Senior Phase

In S4 I achieved National 5 (SCQF level 5) Maths, English, Chemistry, Physics, French, Business Management, Graphic Communications and Geography.

In S5 I achieved Higher (SCQF level 6) Maths, English, Chemistry, Physics, Business Management.

In S6 I achieved Advanced Higher (SCQF level 7) Maths and Chemistry, Higher (SCQF level 6) Administration & IT and Physical Education.

Choosing my Destination

I spoke with friends but also with some of the teachers I knew best. Mr Hamilton and Mrs Nicol gave good advice for post school experience.

Extra Curricular & Work Experience

CREST award Gold - the award was featured on my covering letter for university and gave me real-world engineering experience. It was a good opportunity to meet engineers in the community to work towards a recognised award.

Skills I've developed

I’ve developed my presentation skills. Whilst always daunting, I’ve found it’s really important to be able to communicate ideas and projects clearly to large groups. Having the opportunity to present frequently, during and after school years has allowed this to become a strength.

My Advice

Don’t be too worried about exactly what you want to do. Find what you enjoy and what you’re good at and look to see if there are opportunities around these areas.
