MVP
The Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP) programme is a peer mentoring programme that gives young people the chance to explore and challenge the attitudes, beliefs and cultural norms that underpin gender-based violence, bullying and other forms of violence within the school and local community.
A number of staff member and senior pupils are MVP trained and this will permit the inclusion of the MVP programme within our PSE syllabus which will be built around the needs of the young people within Stirling High School. 36 of our seniors were trained as MVP ambassadors in September 2022.
In S1 we focus on 2 core sessions, with an additional 2 sessions chosen by the young people.
Core Session 1 - An introduction to the mentors in Violence Prevention Programme and the Bystandar Approach.
Core Session 2 - An introduction to values, attitudes and gender norms.
