This course highlights the central role of computing professionals as creative problem-solvers and designers, able to conceive, design, implement, and operate complex systems. It provides candidates with an understanding of contemporary computing technologies, and develops a wide range of practical skills that underpin our modern, digital world.
Students will be required to sit two practical and theory based assessments. The final course assessment is made up of 2 components: a question Paper (80 marks) and a project, undertaken in class and marked externally (80 marks).
Suitable for candidates interested in exploring the role and impact of contemporary computing technologies. It provides a pathway for those who want to progress to more specialised training, further education, or entry into a diverse range of occupations and careers, such as software programming and/or engineering, databases, and web design and development.
