



Stirling High School serves the south west area of Stirling. The catchment area includes urban and rural communities. The catchment extends from the village of Gargunnock in the west to Cambusbarron village; the rural areas around the North Third to the urban areas of St. Ninians, Cultenhove, Borestone, Braehead, Torbrex, Kings Park and the Top of the Town. The role of the school is approximately 900 pupils and between 15-20% of each S1 intake is as a result of placing requests.

Although Braehead Primary is no longer in the Stirling High School Cluster a considerable number of Primary 7 pupils come to Stirling High from Braehead either because they reside within the catchment or as a result of placing requests. Strong curricular links have been established with Braehaed Primary and it participates in the Primary link projects, the Cluster Meetings and the Induction Programme.
Regular Cluster Meetings take place involving the Headteachers of the Partner Primaries, the Link Education Development Officer, the Link Finance and Administration Officer, the Headteacher of Stirling High School and the Depute Headteacher.
The Induction Programme runs over a three day period in the second last week in June. It is timed to coincide with the Bannockburn High School programme.

During the three induction days pupils are guided around the school by school prefects. (“Big Buddies”) The “Buddies will continue to do this during the initial days of the new session and regularly meet with the new pupils in form time during their S1.
